Not quite AnimeWorks news, just a head’s up that might interest some of you anime lovers out there. This November will see the launch of the first Anime Festival Asia, the first anime convention of such a scale here in Singapore!
From 22 to 23 November at Suntec International Convention and Exhibition Centre, the event will be host to many Anime related activities and events, and will allow visitors to immerse themselves in the world of Japanese Pop culture. There’ll be Anime Screenings, Manga art showcases, toy displays from companies like Bandai, in other words, an all out festival for anime enthusiasts.
There will also be panels by people in the anime industry, like Koji Morimoto, one of the founders of Studio 4°C. Mr Morimoto is known for being the director in works like Noiseman Sound Insect, Comedy, as well as shorts for Animatrix and Robot Carnival. He has also worked as producer on shows like Galaxy Angel, Mazninkaiser, New Getter Robo and Onegai Sensei, as well as being an animator on Macross Do You Remember Love?, Ashita no Joe, and Akira. So for those who want to find out more about the industry, do try to catch him.
The event is organised by organised by i-Promo and Dentsu Singapore, with support from the Japan Creative Centre. Bandai and Animax are also sponsers of this event.

Sure, for some of us students, it is right smack in the middle of the exam period, but we encourage you to try to lend your support for this event as it will prove a great boon to the local anime community and pave the way to more such events in the future. We here at AnimeWorks defintiely do hope for their success!
