Singapore Toy, Games and Comic Convention ’09

Over this weekend, from the 14th to 16th August 2009, Suntec City Convention Centre will be playing host to the Singapote Toy, Game and Comic Convention 2009! Originally launced as the Singapore Toy and Comic Convention last year, STGCC is broadening its scope this year to become an all-inclusive convention for Geek culture, aiming to become Asian’s answer to the famous Comic-con convention held in the US.

There is a wide rangee of activities lined up over the three days, catering to a diverse range of interests. Those interested in Cosplay may wish to check out the Cos-Con Cosplay competition held over the weekend by the people from Movie Mania.  The Screening of Green Lantern: First Flight, the direct to DVD movie feature featuring one of DC’s most prominent characters is sure to delight both comic book and animation fans alike. Meet creators such as local Art Comapny, IFS, Classic Uk Comic Artist Brian Bolland and Indie toy creators Play Imaginative and Ugly Dolls among others who will be holding conferences, art demos and signings througout the event.  Furthermore, there will be numerous other vendors and art talents around the floor and free giveaways to be won during the event! Also, do pay a visit to the IFS booth where we will be having a small booth to promote our Illustration Showcase event Extravaganza, scheduled for Anime Festival Asia 2009! Do visit us to find out more of the event! We hope to see you there!
