Animation:R (Screening Event / October 2009)

Continuing AnimeWorks’ long tradition, this October our club is proud to present Animation:R! Formerly known as Animation Revelation, Animation: R is a three day screening event here in NTU featuring 3 excellent Anime movies!

Timings and Dates as follows:

  • 15th October 2009 (Thursday) – 7pm @ LT5 –  The Girl Who Leapt through Time
  • 20th October 2009 (Tuesday) – 7pm @ LT1A – Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete
  • 22th October 2009 (Thursday) – 7pm @ LT24 –  Read or Die OVA

The screening is free and open to all members of the NTUVAS. Those of you who aren’t members need not worry as membership is available at the door. Refreshments will be provided. So forget about your worries, join us for a few evenings of animation wonder to revive your passion for the medium, relive some of its most triumphant moments, and most importantly, to just relax and unwind with fellow anime fans.

We’ll also be having a publicity booth this  week on campus where you can personally come down register with us. Look out for us in the South spine near Canteen B on the 13/10 (Tuesday), or in the North Spine near LT1 / Canteen A on the 14/10 (Wednesday). Do pay us a visit! The Girl Who Leapt Through Time

Sypnosis:  Makoto Konno, an outgoing high school girl living a daily life of fun. She’s not the best student in the world, but she has two of the best friends in the world – Kousuke, who’s the strong, smart dependable type, and Chiaki, who is a fun-loving slacker. One day, she obtained the ability to “leap” backwards through time, where she can change the past. Thus, she immediately sets about improving her grades and preventing personal mishaps. However, changing the past is not as simple as it seems to be; and things start to spiral out of control. “Time waits for no one”

Final Fantasy Advent Children-Complete
Synopsis: Two years after the events of Final Fantasy VII, the world is just getting back on its feet and is working towards a new future. However, a new threat arises in the form of a new illness called Geo-stigma, and three men that seem to be seeking Jenova. Cloud and his friends from the original game must once again reunite to combat this new threat. A expansion of 2005’s Advent Children movie, the movie is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for Final Fantasy Fans

Read or Die OVA
Sypnosis: Yomiko Readman seems like a normal eccentric bookworm- except for the fact she is a member of the British Library Special Opps division; which has the sole purpose of retrieving lost books of great value. She teams up with Drake, a miltary fighter, and Miss Deep, who possesses the power to phase right through solid objects. They are called together for duty by the order of their commander, Joker, when some very powerful minds in history are revived,and they are in search of two special volumes of books containing a powerful secret. Can Yomiko and her partners save the world from a mysterious organization of powerful historical minds of the past?
