Double Batmen Across the Sky!

Sorry, I couldn’t resist.

OMG! OMG! What does this mean?

Spoilers for the Dark Knight after the jump. And by spoilers, I mean major spoilers. That is, if the picture above haven’t spoilt you enough already.

So if you have been following the Batman, you would know that Bruce Wayne has been blasted by Darkseid’s Omega Beams to oblivion. Or has he?

In Blackest Night, we learn that Bruce might still be alive. And there’s an interesting foreshadowing by the Green Lantern there, and I quote from memory, “If Bruce is alive, you can bet that he’s already planning an escape.”

And he is. Apparently the Dark Knight wasn’t killed by Darkseid during the Final Crisis arc. Instead, he was transported back in time all the way across history, where he’s busy making his way back to the present.

During this time, of course, there’s no Batman in Gotham City. But Gotham must always have a Batman. Always. So Dick Grayson, aka Nightwing, took on the role of Batman. And Bruce’s misguided son, Damian, takes on the role of Robin. They’ve been protecting Gotham in Bruce’s absence.

But Bruce is coming back…Or he will be, at the end of the “Return of Bruce Wayne” arc. And now we will have two Dark Knights in Gotham. How would the world react? What does this mean for the D.C Universe?  How will this end? Who can tell?

One thing is for certain, through. Gotham City would be a very interesting place to live in in the coming months.

P.S: One can only wonder what the Joker would do when he sees the two Batmen together. “Woahh…That’s a full Batman.  Double Batmen, Oh my God! Wooo~~ Hwaaa~~ They are starting to look like TRIPLE BATMEN!*  OH MY GOD OH MY GOD! What does this mean?”

*Might be true.

    *DC Fanboy mode ON*

    “In Darkest Night, ”

    Blackest Night!

” during the Infinite Crisis arc.”

    Final Crisis!

Anyway, DC’s already said that Dick will stay as the Batman of Gotham City, but Bruce will travel the world to build a Batman franchise, no joke!
